3D rendering of self-assembled monolayer consisting of Didodecyl-benzene: H₂₅C₁₂C₆H₄C₁₂H₂₅, a benzene ring in the middle having two alkane chains.

The interaction with the underlying graphite has created a super structure where approximately every forth molecule shows up higher than the rest.
