device. Topography of the surface is important to
determine coverage of the coating and roughness -
which can effect susceptibility to corrosion.
The distance from the highest peaks
to the deepest caverns is about 700 nm.
 The
image to the left is the 2D scan of the Pt surface
that was used for the animation. The scan size is
11.9 microns.
