Job Description:

The Midwest Technical Sales Account Manager will be responsible for the effective and profitable growth of SEM related sales within Nanoscience Instruments’ Great Lakes/Midwest region of the United States. The role is to actively promote, sell and support Nanoscience Instruments’ SEM products within the territory.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record selling scientific instrumentation 
  • Experience with scanning electron microscopy is a plus
  • Bachelors of Science degree or higher in physical sciences or engineering
  • Self-motivated, energetic, proactive, results oriented, and hard-working team player
  • Demonstrated ability to focus on strategic and key opportunities, balancing short-term and long-term goals effectively, with ability to close sales
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with customers and prospects
  • Ability to travel throughout territory, >40% or as needed
  • Document communications and keep CRM database up to date

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Actively contact prospective customers, identify, interpret, and respond to customer’s requirements while crafting & promoting our product solutions
  • Effective screening of inquiries, interfacing with customer, preparing quotes and proposals, and following up with ongoing projects
  • Develop and implement new strategies and tactics needed to grow business within territory and key accounts
  • Target and win new customers and open new markets
  • Ensure all bids and proposals meet project specifications; upon contract award ensure customer satisfaction expectations are met
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts
  • Attend local and national trade shows
  • Organize and host workshops within territory
  • Understand competition and market dynamics.  Constantly monitor market trends, hot applications, and competitive practices, reporting data to team members
  • Travel to prospects & customers within territory and company events across the USA
  • Support customers in territory (pre- and post- sales support)

Location: The preferred locations are Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati metro areas, but anywhere within Ohio or SE Michigan is acceptable.
