Product Features
Built-In Standards Compliance
The Sigma 702ET includes an embedded measurement routine specifically configured for ASTM D971 and IEC 62961. The automated process ensures each step follows the required parameters for transformer oil analysis, reducing the risk of user error and simplifying routine compliance in regulated environments.
Balance Hook Probes
Balance hook probes for the Sigma 702ET include several tools used for precise surface and interfacial tension measurements, particularly in transformer oil analysis. The Du Noüy ring and Wilhelmy plate, both made from platinum and compliant with international standards, are commonly used in these applications. The platinum rod is suitable for small-volume samples, and a dedicated density probe is available for accurate liquid density measurements. These probes support the core measurements required for routine transformer oil quality testing and other interfacial analyses.
Standalone Operation
The Sigma 702ET runs as a fully standalone system, with a built-in digital screen and keypad that eliminate the need for a connected PC during routine operation. Results are displayed directly on the integrated screen, and data can be exported to an external computer for reporting or further analysis. This design simplifies day-to-day workflows, especially in production or quality control environments.
Motorized Sample Stage
The motorized sample stage moves with high precision, reaching position resolutions down to 0.01 mm and speed control as fine as 0.01 mm/min. This level of control is especially important for interfacial tension testing in transformer oil analysis. Stage movement is fully automated through the integrated keypad and on-screen interface, reducing variability and improving repeatability. Manual control is also available for quick adjustments.
High-Resolution Balance
The Sigma 702ET features a microbalance with 0.01 mg resolution and a maximum load capacity of 5 g. This level of sensitivity captures even subtle changes in force, which is essential for low-tension systems or small sample volumes. Automatic balance calibration helps maintain consistency across repeated measurements, reducing the need for manual adjustment.
