Fluidnatek® Environmental Control Unit (ECU)

Product Overview

An essential electrospinning and electrospraying accessory upgrade for consistent quality nanoscale materials fabrication.

Temperature Control

Air temperature within the chamber can be precisely controlled from 18ºC to 45ºC with a stability of ±1ºC.

Humidity Control

Relative humidity within the chamber can be controlled from 10% to 80% with a stability of ±3%, depending on temperature.

HEPA Filtration

Air passes through a HEPA filter before entering the spinning chamber to maintain a high degree of air cleanliness, suitable for the manufacture of medical or pharmaceutical devices.

Active Exhaust Regulation

ECU works together with the actively regulated exhaust system to provide high air exchange rates, from 90 to 180m3/h, to maintain a stable production environment
Product Features

The ECU is an external, self-contained system that introduces a conditioned air stream into the fabrication chamber to regulate the temperature (T) and relative humidity (RH) of the electrospinning and/or electrospraying environment. Controlling the T and RH of the electrospinning/electrospraying process is of critical importance for obtaining reproducible fiber/particle morphology and increased sample consistency and throughput, along with aiding on scaling up your process. This control also increases the range of materials that can be successfully electrospun, including those that leverage low boiling-point solvents.

The ECU can be configured to meet strict regulatory standards set by ISO-7, ISO-13485, cGMP, and the FDA, among others.

*Note: ECUs are available for modified or specialized units, such as the Fluidnatek Biomedical systems, by request and may have capabilities different than those listed above. For example, modified units may achieve ISO-5 conditions (also known as Class 100 for 100 particles [≥ 0.5 µm] per square meter of inside air) when super clean conditions are required during sample production.
