LabManual Platen Press

Laboratory Platen Presses

LabManual Series Presses

The LabManual series consists of manually operated hydraulic laboratory presses designed for benchtop use. Widely used in laboratories worldwide, these systems support sample preparation for quality control and R&D applications with a focus on accuracy and repeatability. Optional chrome-plated platens help prevent sample adhesion at elevated temperatures, while the closed hydraulic system eliminates the risk of oil leakage, ensuring clean and reliable operation.

Manual Operations with Consistent Results

With its compact footprint, the LabManual can be easily integrated into most laboratory environments. The system is designed with operator safety in mind, and its ergonomic construction combined with intuitive operation simplifies day-to-day use. It is an ideal solution for applications requiring consistent results with moderate sample throughput, where manual operation is sufficient.

The LabManual is available in 2 models based on the maximum pressing force and platen size.

LabManual 50

• 50 kN Maximum Pressing Force
• Temperatures up to 200 °C
• 200 × 200 mm platens

LabManual 300

• 300 kN Maximum Pressing Force
• Temperatures up to 300 °C
• 320 × 320 mm platens

Product Features

Digital Temperature & Pressure Controls

Even though the LabManual is a manually operated press, it offers multiple digital controls and read-outs, such as a digital temperature controller and a PID control system. Using the digital temperature controller, the desired temperature of the upper and lower platen can easily be entered and monitored, as the display shows both the actual temperature value and the setpoint. The PID control ensures a continuously modulated control by means of accurate and responsive correction and avoids temperature overshoot. There is also an integrated LCD-screen on the LabManual, which shows the closing force that is set by the handpump.

Optional Rapid Cooling Platform

For improved throughput, an optional automated water-cooling system is available to rapidly reduce platen temperature between cycles, enabling faster transitions to subsequent processes. This cooling system can be configured to comply with ASTM D4703, achieving controlled cooling rates of up to 15 °C/min when required. Additionally, chrome-plated platens minimize sample adhesion at elevated temperatures, supporting clean and consistent sample release.
