Materials Scientist II / Electrospinning Scientist

Position Overview
We are looking for an intensely curious, PhD-level Scientist in polymer science or chemistry to join our team in a role supporting electrospinning applications and contract research projects. This role combines technical sales support and customer engagement with experimental research and project leadership. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert on electrospinning and electrospraying.

Key Responsibilities:
Contract Research
- Lead and manage electrospinning and electrospraying projects for diverse clients.
- Mentor team members and act as a technical expert on experimental design and data analysis.
- Interface with clients to define project scope, optimize processes, and communicate results.
- Conduct hands-on experiments, prepare samples, and develop standard operating procedures.
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, coordinating with vendors and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with quality management standards and document procedures accordingly.
- Prepare written and oral reports detailing project progress and outcomes.
Applications & Technical Support
- Support Fluidnatek electrospinning systems and related applications with SEM.
- Conduct product demonstrations, installations, and user training sessions across North America.
- Participate in pre-sales and post-sales support, including roadshows, workshops, and trade shows.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop new applications and reach new markets.
- Provide remote and onsite technical support and assist with troubleshooting.
- Coordinate web demos and utilize instrumentation for proof-of-concept testing.
- Serve as a liaison between customers and suppliers for application and support matters.
Qualifications
- PhD in Polymer Science, Chemistry, or related field.
- Extensive hands-on experience with electrospinning and electrospraying processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical projects and communicate effectively with clients.
- Experience operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation.
- Strong writing and presentation skills, with a knack for translating complex data into actionable insights.
- Eagerness to travel (~20–30%) for customer support, training, and events.
- A passion for science and an intensely curious mindset toward exploring new materials and methods.
