Sigma Solo is a standalone force tensiometer designed to make everyday surface science measurements simple and consistent. It delivers reliable surface tension, interfacial tension, and liquid density results for routine QC and high-throughput labs. Operation is fully self-contained to the touch screen display with step-by-step guided workflows for measurements in minutes. Single-tap automation runs measurements and shows results immediately on screen. At the core of the Sigma Solo is a sensitive force balance that records forces between a probe and a liquid interface. Using a Du Nouy ring, Wilhelmy plate, or rod probes, it accurately determines surface tension, interfacial tension, and density.

The Attension Sigma Transformer Oil is a fully automated force tensiometer designed specifically for standardized transformer oil quality testing. Featuring integrated ASTM D971 and IEC 62961 testing protocols, standalone touchscreen operation, and automated report generation.

Standalone Operation with Full Automation

Sigma Solo is fully automated and operated entirely from its integrated touch display with no external PC needed. The embedded software guides users through surface tension, interfacial tension, and liquid density measurements, and results appear on the screen when each run completes. This keeps routine measurements fast and consistent, even across operators with different experience levels.

Easy Data Transfer

Sigma Solo uses USB-C connectivity for transferring data from the standalone unit to a PC or smart phone. The instrument stores up to 100 measurements to ensure experimental data is never lost between transfers and builds automatically generated PDF reports for easy export of results.

Advanced Sample Monitoring Options

An optional advanced sample stage expands what Solo can do. A stirrer is available for sample homogenization and temperature and pH probes can help monitor conditions during measurements. Because temperature, pH, and mixing all influence interfacial behavior, this option improves reproducibility and can better reflect real-world conditions.

Protective Doors for Stable Measurements

Optional protective doors shield the measurement zone from air currents, reducing the effect of air flow on sensitive readings. This improves baseline stability and repeatability, especially in busy lab environments.

Ionizer for Static Discharge Control

Static charge can introduce noise and instability in ultra-sensitive force measurements, particularly in dry lab environments or low-force applications. An optional ionizer neutralizes electrostatic charges around the measurement zone, improving baseline stability. This results in improved repeatability and higher confidence in precision measurements.

ASTM & IEC Standard Methods

For labs in industrial energy applications, ASTM and IEC standard methods for Transformer Oil quality testing can be added to Sigma Solo’s measurement options. This optional add-on lets users run standardized protocols directly on the instrument’s touchscreen display.
