The Attension® Sigma Peak CMC is designed to automate one of the most important measurements in surfactant research: determining the critical micelle concentration (CMC). By continuously measuring surface tension as surfactant concentration changes, the system accurately identifies the concentration at which micelles begin to form. The instrument combines an ultra-sensitive force balance with fully automated sample handling and intuitive OneAttension software to deliver fast, repeatable, and highly accurate CMC measurements. Automated workflows eliminate many of the manual steps traditionally required for force tensiometry, allowing researchers to generate reliable results with minimal training. Sigma Peak CMC is well suited for research and development laboratories studying detergents, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food ingredients, specialty chemicals, nanomaterials, and other formulations where surfactant performance plays a critical role.

Surfactant behavior is highly dependent on environmental conditions. Optional temperature probes, pH sensors, and magnetic stirring accessories allow users to monitor and control these critical experimental parameters throughout CMC measurements, improving consistency and reproducibility.

Ionizer for Static Discharge Control

Electrostatic charge can introduce unwanted noise into highly sensitive force measurements. An optional ionizer neutralizes static electricity around the measurement area, improving baseline stability and increasing confidence in low-force measurements.
