Attension® Sigma Product Options

Attension® Sigma Force Tensiometers employ a simple and robust technique to measure surface tension, interfacial tension, and density of liquids. These direct measurements allow determination of a liquid material properties, like critical micelle concentration. Beyond surface/interfacial tension, the availability of multiple probes allows measurements of the interaction between solid and liquid surfaces, including powder wettability, dynamic contact angles, sedimentation, and adhesion. Understanding these interactions plays a critical role in surfactant development, adhesion, formulation development, absorption, and wettability.
Fully Automated Force Tensiometer

Sigma Peak combines full automation, broad measurement capabilities, and flexible operation (PC-controlled or standalone), allowing teams to move seamlessly from method development to QC. It’s the ideal choice for labs that need maximum capability without sacrificing efficiency or ease of use.

Surface Free Energy

This video will demonstrate a dynamic contact angle measurement with an Attension Sigma 700. Attension Sigma, while leveraging the OneAttension software,  automatically evaluates the contact angle values to determine surface free energy values.

Surface & Interfacial Tension

Critical Micelle Concentration (CMC)

With CMC, the surface tension is measured as a function of surfactant concentration to automatically find the CMC point – the highest concentration of surfactant that will still affect the surface tension of the sample liquid. This video will demonstrate a CMC  measurement with an Attension Sigma 700.
